Marcht 21, 2017 -- RainWise attended InterMET Asia, a unique event held in Singapore focusing on the meteorlolgical industry, where The Weather Company, an IBM business, displayed a co-branded RainWise MK-III weather station. Businesses in the public and private sectors who are seeking to help manage risks of extreme weather and climate change in the Asian, African and Pacific Island regions attended this event from all over the world. With all of these attendees, there was a huge interest for meteorological solutions utilizing the MK-III weather stations and other RainWise meteorlolgical equipment.
This event focused on extreme weather and climate change, a huge issue in Asia, Africa and Pacific Island regions that sometimes causes massive socio-economic disruption. Petteri Taalas, The Secretary General of the World Meteorology Organization states, "More than ever, now it is essential to invest in adaptation and build weather and climate resilient societies. To manage risks and protect lives and property, we need enhanced multi-hazard early warning systems and greater coordination of disaster management activities."
